What are my friend's rights?
« on: May 27, 2009, 05:49:33 PM »

I have a friend who was with this grl, Megan and he broke up with her before they found out she was pregnant. Now they know and Megan will not let him know the sex of the baby or anything. He wants to be part of  the baby's life but she is not letting him. Everytime he calls her, she hangs up on him or yells at him. Or his ex best friend gets on the phone and starts calling him names and hangs up on him. She won't even tell him anything and if she does, she goes thru the friend and makes the friend tell him. But thats rare. What is his rights?

I am  not a lawyer but it is my understanding of the law that you can't get rights to an unborn child.  He will have to wait till the baby is born then seek paternity and the rights that go with it.
